Finn still pulls and barks

For the first time ever, I was pulled acrossed paved road.  I was shocked how big and strong he has become.  His lack of concern for me and others has not changed; however, he grew bigger and stronger. Going forward, I am planning to put my face in front of him and repeatedly say "no we are not going over" on a repeated basis.  I am hoping this in his face strategy will work better than my immediately sit and anchor strategy.  It shall be a combination of sit, anchor plus in your face clear msg of no dragging, no pulling, and no moving.  Hand on collar, leash and rope. Anyhow, Finn is otherwise a good boy and listens. He is a good boy but this one thing is very hard to correct and control.  He exhibits this behaviour only towards some dogs. He is eager to say hi.  He does not understand why this behaviour is unacceptable. He still barks in the yard so he is out for less than 15 mins at a time.  Sigh.

Dogs like to chew on wood

Dogs like to chew on stuffed animals and wood.  It is in their nature to chew.  Finn is a big dog so everything he does is bigger and more visible.  Every single dog that lived with my family had damaged at least a piece of furniture or scratched the floor.  Finn took a small bite in a few furniture at home.  For example, the entrance desk has his scratches and bite barks; he is the first dog to put visible damage on it.  Today, I take comfort into any furniture at home I see with his bite marks, it shows he lives here and the furniture is used.  He doesn't continually damage our furniture.  Finn also put holes in my apparel sometimes; he might be a tailor!  He was born different!

Dog walking gear for winter is coming

If you have been following this blogger, you would have read her post about dog walking gear in another blog.  Most recently I discovered new apparel that is good for walking dog in the cold.  Polyester onesie, life jacket, head buff and one piece bathing suit.

While Candy is indoor...

Finn sits quietly by a tree and waits patiently for Candy.
